Atlanta's Transit Upgrades: Bus-Rapid Line Construction, Track Replacement, and Station Soccer

Construction is set to begin this month on Atlanta's first bus-rapid transit (BRT) line, MARTA Rapid Summerhill. The five-mile route will connect downtown Atlanta to neighborhoods such as Summerhill and Peoplestown, with connections to MARTA's heavy rail system. The project, funded by a sales tax and federal grant, is expected to be completed in spring 2025, with passenger service starting later that year. The BRT line will feature dedicated bus-only lanes, level boarding, and real-time arrival information. MARTA is also planning BRT routes in other areas of Atlanta.
