"The Cost of Twitter's Blue Checkmark"

A "hack" has been discovered that allows Twitter users to give themselves a blue tick for free by adding the words "former blue check" to their bio. The trick appears to work for formerly verified users under the old blue tick system, but not for users who have never been verified. However, there are reports that the blue tick appears whenever users edit their bio, before disappearing shortly afterwards. This latest error is one of many that have been appearing on Twitter since CEO Elon Musk made sweeping changes to the platform's timeline, algorithm, and verification system.
