Meta's platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, experienced a significant outage on Wednesday, affecting thousands of users. The issues began around 1PM ET, with many users unable to load apps or seeing outdated posts. Downdetector reported over 66,000 issues for Instagram and over 83,000 for Facebook. Meta acknowledged the problem on X and announced by 5:26PM ET that services were mostly restored, with final checks underway. This outage follows previous disruptions in March and October 2022.
