Mercedes-Benz unveils the refreshed 2027 S-Class lineup (S500 4Matic, S580 4Matic, S580e 4Matic) with a major update: new engines—a 3.0L inline-six with mild hybrid (442 hp/472 lb-ft), a 4.0L V8 (530 hp/553 lb-ft), and a 576-hp plug-in hybrid—plus smarter Airmatic/E-Active Body Control suspension and proactive damping. Exterior gains include a restyled front, illuminated grille, and Digital Light headlights. Inside sits the Superscreen with the fourth-gen MBUX AI and new Avatar Virtual Assistant; comfort features now include heated seatbelts. Rear passengers get two MBUX remote controls, and adaptive headlight tech will be available in the U.S. authentication era.
