Apple will no longer offer the ability to measure blood oxygen levels on newly purchased Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 models in the U.S. following a patent case loss to medical technology company Masimo. The U.S. International Trade Commission found that some Apple Watches violated Masimo's patents and issued a ban on the import of watches with the technology. Apple continues to appeal the case, but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has reinstated the feature ban, requiring changes to remove the technology at the center of the patent fight.
