"Amazon Expands AI Capabilities with New Chip, Strengthening Nvidia Partnership"

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the launch of its new Trainium2 AI chip and the general-purpose Graviton4 processor, along with offering access to Nvidia's latest H200 AI graphics processing units. The Graviton4 processors, based on Arm architecture, promise better performance and energy efficiency compared to chips from Intel or AMD. AWS aims to provide cost-effective options and compete with Microsoft by offering top-of-the-line products, including sought-after GPUs from Nvidia. The introduction of AWS's AI chip does not pose a challenge to Nvidia, as Amazon is simultaneously expanding its collaboration with the chipmaker. More than 50,000 AWS customers are already using Graviton chips, and the Trainium2 chips will be utilized by startups Databricks and Anthropic.
