Naperville, Illinois has been ranked as the best city to live in America in 2024 by Niche, with factors such as the health of the local housing market, neighborhood diversity, area public schools, and walkability contributing to its high placement. Other Illinois cities in the top 100 include Chicago, Clarendon Hills, Long Grove, Hinsdale, Buffalo Grove, Vernon Hills, Kildeer, Evanston, Northbrook, and Chicago's Loop and West Loop neighborhoods. This is the first time Naperville has been named the best city, with The Woodlands, Texas; Cambridge, Massachusetts; Arlington, Virginia; and Plano, Texas rounding out the top five.
