"New Year's Tradition: NYC Doctor Delivers Both Father and First Baby of 2024"

In a remarkable coincidence, Dr. Sherman Dunn of South Brooklyn Health delivered New York City's first baby of 2024, only to discover he had also delivered the baby's father 23 years earlier at the same hospital. The birth, which took place at the stroke of midnight, marked the fifth consecutive year the hospital welcomed the city's first baby. Adding to the serendipity, the nurse assigned to the new family had cared for the father as a child. Both the baby and mother are reported to be doing well.
