Nebraska Woman Faces Felony Charge for Exploiting Gas Pump Glitch

A woman in Lincoln, Nebraska, is facing a felony theft charge after allegedly exploiting a gas pump glitch to obtain over $27,000 worth of free fuel over a six-month period. Dawn Thompson, 45, was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking of $5,000 or more. She allegedly used a rewards card to access the free fuel after a glitch allowed customers to use it instead of a debit or credit card. Thompson is accused of selling the rewards card and profiting from discounted fuel sales to another woman. She was released from jail after paying a $7,500 bond and is due in court on April 11.
