"Mother Sentenced to 30 Days for Waterboarding and Freezing Baby in Spiteful Test"

Sharday McDonald, a woman from Oregon, has been sentenced to 30 days in jail after admitting to waterboarding her 13-month-old son "out of spite" and to test the loyalty of the child's father. McDonald pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal mistreatment and will also be on supervised probation for three years. The incident occurred in October 2021 when police arrived at McDonald's home and found her screaming at the child's father on the phone. Pictures revealed that the baby was being abused by having water poured down his face and over his nose, and prosecutors stated that the child could have been killed. McDonald was also charged with identity theft and witness tampering in a separate case.
