Arrested Murder Suspect Nabbed at Elementary School Following McDonald's Shooting

Sam Ivey, an employee at a McDonald's in Hendersonville, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon after shooting and killing Jacklyn Reed during an argument. After the shooting, Ivey fled to a nearby elementary school where he was recognized by a school resource officer and apprehended. A video captured Ivey's arrest outside the school. It is believed that Ivey did not intend harm at the school. The owner of the McDonald's location confirmed that Ivey having a concealed weapon violated restaurant policy. Reed, the victim, had exhibited erratic behavior prior to the incident. Ivey is currently in custody without bond.
