USPS Implements New Measures to Combat Mail Theft and Protect Carriers

The United States Postal Service is implementing measures to prevent mail theft, including changing to electronic locks and placing hardened blue boxes in high-risk areas. The changes also include internal processes for authentication of address changes and tackling counterfeit postage. The Postal Inspection Service Chief has stated that they are working to protect postal employees and the security of the mail by hardening targets and bringing perpetrators to justice.
