Onewheel Recall: Four Deaths Prompt Urgent Action

Future Motion is recalling all 300,000 Onewheel self-balancing vehicles in the US, following four known deaths, three of which occurred without a helmet, between 2019 and 2021. The recall comes after the company previously resisted the US Consumer Product Safety Commission's (CPSC) calls for a recall. Future Motion is asking owners to stop using their Onewheels until they take appropriate action. For certain models, a software update with a new warning system will be provided, while early adopters will receive a pro-rated credit towards the purchase of a new board after disposing of the old model.
