Massive Recall Issued for Onewheel Electric Skateboards Following Fatalities and Injuries

All models of Onewheel self-balancing electric skateboards, manufactured by Future Motion, are being recalled after four deaths and multiple injuries were reported. The skateboards can stop balancing a rider if their limits are exceeded, leading to serious crashes. Future Motion has received numerous incident reports, including deaths and injuries resulting from head trauma. Owners of impacted Onewheel skateboards are advised to stop using them immediately. A firmware update with a new safety alert feature will be available for some models, while eligible riders can receive a prorated refund. The Consumer Product Safety Commission had previously warned consumers to stop using Onewheel skateboards, and the recall is the result of months of work with Future Motion.
