Boston-bound United flight diverted to Denver due to mid-air wing damage

A United flight from San Francisco to Boston was diverted to Denver after a portion of the wing was discovered to be damaged mid-air, causing some panic among passengers. The plane, carrying 165 passengers, made an emergency landing, and everyone eventually arrived safely in Boston on a new plane, three hours later than scheduled. United Airlines stated that the issue was with the slat on the wing of the aircraft.
