Kia is recalling over 427,000 Telluride SUVs from model years 2020-2024 due to a defect that may cause the vehicles to roll away while parked. The issue stems from improper assembly of the intermediate shaft and right front driveshaft, potentially leading to unintended vehicle movement while in park. Kia will update the affected cars' electronic parking brake software and replace damaged intermediate shafts for free, with reimbursement for owners who already incurred repair expenses. Drivers are advised to manually engage the emergency brake before exiting the vehicle, and owner notification letters are set to be mailed out on May 15.
