Honda recalls over 560K CR-Vs in cold states for rust risk

Honda is recalling 564,000 older CR-V models in cold weather states due to rust that can cause the rear trailing arm to detach, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects certain CR-Vs from 2007 through 2011 sold or registered in 23 states and Washington, D.C. impacted by salt on roadways used to clear roads in winter. Honda will inspect and install a support brace or repair the rear frame, and may offer to buy the car in some cases. No deaths or injuries have been reported, but 61 customer complaints have been received.
