Mercedes-Benz is enhancing its in-car voice assistant, MBUX Virtual Assistant, with generative AI to create more natural interactions and personalized experiences for drivers. The upgraded system, running on the next-generation MB.OS operating system, will offer predictive behavior and four personality traits. The voice assistant will rely on a large-language model for natural dialogue and answers to customer questions, and can be customized to fit the driver’s preferences. Mercedes is working with technology partners to ensure the MBUX system remains at the forefront of automotive technology, and is also adding more videoconferencing and streaming options to its cars.
